Dave Blomquist serves as Assistant Vice President and Commercial/Residential Underwriting Counsel for Chicago Title’s direct operation in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
In 2000, Dave completed the joint degree program at the University of Kansas and was awarded his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law and his Master of Urban Planning from the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Design.
Dave held several management positions with an independent title insurance agency and was ultimately promoted to President of the operation. Subsequently, Dave acted as underwriting counsel for a regional title insurance underwriter. Dave joined Chicago Title in December 2009 as Residential Underwriting Counsel. Among his responsibilities at Chicago Title are Commercial/Residential underwriting and issue resolution, title insurance licensing, internal and external training, claims coordination and internal title auditing. Dave was nominated for and successfully completed the Fidelity National Financial Leadership Program in 2013.
Dave is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and is an appointed member of the Standards for Title Examination Committee. In addition, Dave is a member of the Kansas Land Title Association and is an acting member of the Legislative Committee.
Dave and his wife Michelle have two sons, Jake and Noah. Dave is an avid cyclist, and he enjoys woodworking, landscaping and gardening with his wife, playing sports with their two boys and spending time with family.
